Years ago, we were introduced to the concept of ‘the meter drop’. For those unfamiliar with it, the basic idea is that there’s more potential work & value for the taxi driver who embarks on driving many, many small trips rather than one or two large excursions (e.g - bringing someone to the airport) for the simple reason that every single cab ride doesn’t begin with the meter at zero, but at a smaller dollar amount.
